Winning is simple: Players take turns until one of them has built one each of a Mountain, Valley, and Plain — first to build all three wins!

But, there’s a twist: One island, shared tiles, total control — build fast, block smart, and erupt to victory!

1

Set the Stage

Each player gets tiles, volcanoes, and formation cards, then builds a shared, symmetrical island.

2

Make Your Move

On your turn, take 2 actions like moving a volcano, placing a tile, or throwing one over a volcano.

3

Claim Victory

Stand on a formation to claim it — once you’ve claimed a Mountain, Valley, and Plain, you win the game!

Played two games now and was pleasantly surprised by the depth en strategic choices. Felt like there is a lot to discover and looking forward to that

Landfall: A Cozy Volcano Island-Building Game

Super easy to set up and the pieces are beautifully made. Rules are easy to understand, though strategy takes a little bit of learning. The first couple of games we played went pretty fast just because we were trying to figure out how to block and such, but my partner is hooked and wants to keep playing. Probably just because she hasn't beaten me yet though. lol

Landfall: A Cozy Volcano Island-Building Game

I backed this game when I first saw it and just received it recently. Very unique game with a reminiscent feeling of a much older game. Definitely worth playing.

Landfall: A Cozy Volcano Island-Building Game

After the first few plays you think you'll get into a pretty set rhythm, but you can still be surprised with how quickly your opponent can achieve their goals. Definitely takes more thinking/strategy than you would initially think. Will definitely add it to the regular rotation.

Landfall: A Cozy Volcano Island-Building Game

My daughter and I have decided this is the best game we've gotten through various kickstarters. Really enjoying the flexibility of approach, and the quality of the pieces are super high!

Landfall: A Cozy Volcano Island-Building Game

Would probably rate this as a 7 or 8 if it wasn't for the shaky ground expansion. At two players so far it feels like once one player gets ahead the game is pretty much over. But the expansion randomizes the formations enough to keep everyone on their toes. Really awesome game!

Landfall: A Cozy Volcano Island-Building Game

Our kick starter version game in the mail yesterday and we played right away. We LOVE how cerebral it is immediately. You can definitely tell this was made by a chess lover. Added bonus to get to sit and fidget with the high quality tiles while you wait for your turn.

PRE-ORDER Landfall: A Cozy Volcano Island-Building Game

OMG incredible! I have... too many kickstarter games lol, this has to be head and shoulders above the best I've ever seen. (Well, logi games is super, but that's very different). It has fast elements, some deep logical elements, action (bump your opponent into the ocean! Don't worry, they can come back) Super quick to set up and put away, and each game you make an island (or 2) which is different and beautiful! It's pretty simple - there are 4 actions, and you do 2 a turn. There are of course some details in the actions, but it really is an easy read. I highly recommend it, and hope that it's successful enough to get lots of reprints and stuff. I'm happy I got the expansion which (besides for the gameplay changes, also) adds 2 more players to make it an up to 4 player game, cuz it is awesome!

Any Questions?

Why are the volcanoes moving? Don’t volcanoes typically stand still?

You might experience a game of Landfall in 30 minutes, but the game actually takes place over 30 million years! As far as geological time goes, volcanoes move around quite a lot, creating new landforms as they do.

It is designed for 2 - 4 players.

How long does each game take?

Around 30 minutes
